Social Housing Retrofit Rotterdam

Favrestraat constructed in 1966, Rotterdam is an exam- ple of postwar social housing with poor environmental standards. Natural gas was discovered in Holland in the 60s heating e ciency was not considered in the design. Housing demand was high after the destruction and the government needed to provide fast solutions. Nowadays extending the life of existing building stock is a priority for the municipality to reach goals for net zero buildings in 2021.
